Man is born with a lot of wants, necessary, and expectation of co-operation, as he is sensitive and social animal. It is obvious that to help the helpless people and the poor is humanity. If we have through research about the world now, we find rich countries helping the poor ones, rich people helping the poor, and that various organizations are helping different sectors. There are several organizations being run in Nepal, but none of them seems to have been helping the elderly. So, having been realized this fact and also in order to render other services for human welfare, a group of 15 Tamang peoples involved in trekking business has, under recognition of His Majesty's government of Nepal, set up an organization called "Tamang Sea Kendra-Nepal" (Tamang Welfare Centre Nepal ) in 2001 A.D. This organization is a totally non-profitable and non-governmental organization and is working accordingly; the head office of the centre is based at Kathmandu Metropolitan City - 6, Boudha, on its own private land.

पर्दा होस् या मर्दा हामीलाई समाजको आवश्यकता पर्दछ । समाज नै हाम्रो सुख दुःख को साथी हो । हाम्रा प्रत्येक समस्याहरुलाई समाधान गर्न को लागी समाजले महत्वपूर्ण भुमिका खेल्दछ । समाज भित्र हाम्रो आफ्नै किसिमको पृथक पहिचान रहेको हुन्छ । जुन पहिचान नै हाम्रो संस्कृति, परम्परा र रितिरीवाज हो जसले समाजको परिभाषित गर्दछ । हरेक समाजमा विभिन्न किसिमका आवश्यकताहरु पनि हुन्छन् । यहि आवश्यकतालाई केहि हद् सम्म भएपनि समाधान गर्न सकिन्छ कि भन्ने विचारले स्थापना भएको एउटा संस्था हो, तामाङ सेवा केन्द्र, नेपाल ।
तामाङहरुको कला संस्कृति र परम्परा जगेर्ना गर्ने , एउटै ठाउँमा वसोवास गर्ने तामाङहरुको वीचमा आपसी सद्भाव वढाउने र भै परि आउने सामाजिक कामहरु को लागी एक आपसमा एकजुट भएर सहयोग आदान प्रदान गर्ने सोचका साथ यस संस्थाको स्थापना भएको थियो । स्थापना कालमा विशेष गरेर सोलुखुम्वु र खोटाङ जिल्लाबाट काठमाण्डौमा आई स्थायी वा अस्थायी रुपले वसोवास गर्ने तामाङहरु आवद्ध थिए । हाल आएर यस संस्थाले नेपाल भरि छरिएर रहेका संम्पूर्ण तामाङहरुलाई नै समेटेको छ ।
२०५८ सालमा यस संस्थाको स्थापना भएको हो । यस संस्थाले स्थापना काल देखिनै ल्होछार र वुद्ध जयन्ति जस्ता तामाङहरुको विशेष पर्वमा विविध कार्यक्रमहरु भव्यताका साथ आयोजना गर्दै आइरहेको छ । यस संस्थाको कार्यलय काठमाण्डौ जिल्ला अर्न्तर्गत वौद्ध तिनचुले सुबिगाऊँमा रहेको छ । यस संस्थाले आफ्नै निजि जग्गामा अस्थाई गुम्वा र कार्यालय पनि स्थापना गरेको छ ।
